Mareya Ibrahim

Mareya Ibrahim is "The Fit Foody“ a natural foods industry veteran, chef, writer, educator and award-winning inventor. Mareya is the founder of Grow Green Industries, INC., a company dedicated to eco solutions for food safety and is the co-patent holder of a range of product for commercial and consumer applications. Eat Cleaner is the only consumer line of Food Wash + Wipes that is lab proven effective in cleaning produce and extending shelf life. The patented line of products has been featured on QVC and won the Disney iParenting Award for best new product in 2010 and the 2011 World's Best Technologies Gold Prize. eatSafe is a commercial grade, all natural wash for fresh fruit and vegetables for food service and manufacturers and an alternative to chlorine. eatFresh is an all natural commercial antimicrobial for food and beverage manufacturers and an alternative to chemical preservatives.

Mareya is a featured chef on "Recipe Rehab," a new competition style cooking show coming to ABC nationwide in the Fall 2012, helping to overhaul family favorites nutritiously and deliciously, and was also part of the original YouTube cast. Her back page column, "The Fit Foody", appears in Edible Orange County Magazine and every Friday, she can be seen on San Diego Channel 6 news for Fit Foody Friday segments. Her philosophy on food is "˜feed your body, not your face" using a plant-forward approach.

Mareya is strongly committed to community outreach, especially as it relates to the health and well- being of children. Grow Green Industries, Inc. is a trusted partner of Healthy Child Healthy World, a non-profit that encourages parents to create a non-toxic environment for children. In addition, Mareya is a consultant for The Network for a Healthy California (Champions for Change), which helps low- income individuals and communities overcome barriers to eating healthy and being active through improved access to nutritious food and safe environments.

In 2009, Mareya was a finalist in the Inc. Magazine Newpreneur of the Year contest where she was one of 13 new entrepreneurs selected out of almost 1,000 entries. Grow Green Industries, Inc. was also awarded the Gold Prize at the 2011 World's Best Technologies Showcase, selected out of 290 nominated companies worldwide, for their innovative products which address food safety and food waste. Mareya has also been nominated for the 2011 NRDC Growing Green Awards as a thought leader on the environment.

She holds a B.A. Communications from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a TEFLA (teacher of English as a Foreign Language) certificate. She is also fluent in Arabic and Italian. Mareya is a mother of two and a self confessed clean freak, based in Orange County, California.
