Allison Kave founded First Prize Pies in March of 2010, after winning the Best Overall Prize at the 2009 Brooklyn Pie Bake-Off for her Bourbon Ginger Pecan Pie. Specializing in seasonal recipes, unique flavors, and twists on traditional classics, First Prize Pies has developed a devoted following and been featured in Food & Wine, The New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine, Time Out New York, Serious Eats, Tasting Table, NBC, Food. Curated., and The Cooking Channel, among others. Since founding her business, Allison has expanded into teaching, and has led workshops and demos at The James Beard Foundation and the French Culinary Institute in New York, as well as in-home private baking classes. She is currently at work on a pie-centric cookbook.
